How to Upload Videos

Uploading video is the first step in your Scout Elite workflow. Once your footage is in the Video Library, you can organize it, create clips, and share it with your team.

This feature requires a Solo subscription. Learn about our plans.

Uploading a Video

  1. Navigate to Video Library in the sidebar
  2. Click the Upload button (or drag and drop files onto the page)
  3. Select one or more video files from your computer
  4. The upload begins automatically — you’ll see a progress indicator for each file

Scout Elite supports large file uploads (multiple GB) by streaming directly to our CDN. You can continue using the app while uploads are in progress.

Tip: For the best experience, upload MP4 files. Most game recording systems and screen recorders output MP4 by default.

After Upload

Once an upload completes:

  • A thumbnail is automatically generated from the video (this may take a few seconds)
  • The video appears in your current folder in the Video Library
  • You can immediately add it to a Clip Project or share it

Organizing Uploads

Videos can be organized into folders for easy management. See Organizing Your Video Library for details on creating folders and moving videos.

Upload Tips

  • Internet speed matters — large game videos (2-5 GB) may take a while on slower connections. Scout Elite handles this gracefully with resumable uploads.
  • Name your files before uploading — descriptive filenames like 2026-03-15-vs-eagles-period1.mp4 make it easier to find footage later.
  • Upload from any device — Scout Elite works in any modern web browser, including tablets.
