Scout Elite Live is the free Scout Elite app for iPhone, iPad and Android. Use it to track a hockey game as it happens, even with no signal at the rink, and to open everything from your Scout Elite account on your phone: video reviews, practice plans, playbooks, drills and reports.
Download it from the App Store or Google Play.
Getting Started
When you open the app, choose one:
- Sign in with Apple (iPhone and iPad), Google, an email code or your password. Use the same account you use on scout-elite.com.
- Continue without an account to start tracking right away. You can sign in later; games you tracked stay on your phone and can be published once you do.
Not sure how it works yet? Before you’ve tracked a game, the home screen has Try an example game: a sample game you can tap around in.
Tracking a Game
- Tap Track a game and enter the home and away teams with their rosters. Lines carry over from each team’s last game.
- During the game, tap a team’s score to log a goal: pick the scorer, the assists and who was on the ice. Your saved lines add a whole line in one tap.
- Tap a team’s Shots box to add a shot (hold to delete one), and use the event buttons for faceoffs, penalties, turnovers, zone entries, big saves and highlights.
- Made a mistake? Undo removes the last entry, and the Game Events tab lets you fix any event or its time later.
- The Analytics tab shows the game report by period, the scoring report with everyone on the ice for each goal, and player stats for both teams.
You can leave the tracker at any time: the game keeps running in a bar at the bottom of the app, so you can check a practice plan or a review and jump back in.
No signal at the rink?
Everything saves on your phone as you go, so tracking never waits on the network. Nothing is lost if you have no signal for the whole game.
Publishing a Game to Your Account
Publishing backs a game up to your Scout Elite account and makes it available on scout-elite.com.
- When you’re signed in, a Ready to publish card appears in the game. Tap Publish to back it up. After that, changes you make keep in sync.
- With no signal, it waits and publishes when you’re back online.
- If nobody is signed in on the phone, the game publishes once someone signs in.
Games from the previous version of Scout Elite Live come with you when you update the app.
Your Scout Elite Account in the App
Once you’re signed in, the app opens what you have on scout-elite.com:
- Video: reviews and clip playlists. Turn your phone sideways for full screen.
- Library: practice plans (with drill diagrams and times), playbooks, drills and reports.
- Teams: accept team invitations and keep your rosters with you.
- Shared with you: everything your coaches share with you shows on the home screen.
Creating and editing reviews, plans, playbooks and reports happens on scout-elite.com. The app is for tracking games and for using everything at the rink.
Notifications
Allow notifications to hear about it when a coach shares something new with you, like a review, a practice plan or a report. You can turn them off in your phone’s settings at any time.
Viewing a Published Game on the Web
- On scout-elite.com, open Scout Elite Live in the sidebar.
- You’ll see every game you’ve published, plus any shared with you. Click a game to open it.
- Each game has four tabs:
- Report: the game summary with team statistics, the scoring log and player stats.
- Analytics: charts of events over game time, to spot momentum swings and pressure periods.
- Log: every event, filterable. You can fix times and details here too.
- Video: clip projects and reviews linked to this game.
Turning a Tracked Game into Clips and Reports
Every event you track has a time, which saves you a lot of manual work afterwards:
- Clips: import the game’s events into a Clip Project to create clips at the moments they happened, instead of scrubbing through the video.
- Game Reports: pick the Live game as a source for an AI game report, and its stats go straight into the report.
Tip: Have an assistant or a parent track the game with Scout Elite Live and share it with the coach. The coach gets the stats right away and can turn the events into clips and a game report.
Sharing a Game
You can share a published game with people or teams from scout-elite.com. See Sharing Videos, Clips & Reviews for how sharing works and what each plan includes.
Settings and Your Account
- Share usage stats: in Settings. Turn it off to stop sending anonymous usage events.
- Delete account: Profile → Delete account in the app, or on the website. This deletes your account and its data.
